Newport Christmas Parade is December 11

The Newport Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Newport are excited to present the 2025 Christmas Parade, featuring festive floats, cheerful participants, and a visit from the one and only Santa Claus!

Participation is free and open to all who want to spread holiday cheer. Parade entries are encouraged to create their own holiday-themed floats; however, organizers kindly request that participants not include Santa on their floats, as the official Santa will make his grand appearance at the end of the parade.

The parade route will travel from Riceland Foods to 3rd Street/Malcolm Avenue and end at the Village Mall parking lot. Participants should line up in the parking lot across from Riceland Foods (McLain Street and Hwy. 69) no earlier than 5:00 p.m.

• Enter the parking lot from McLain Street, facing Malcolm Avenue.
• A line-up crew will be on-site to direct entries to their designated spots.
• The area will be crowded — please plan accordingly.
• Those leaving a vehicle at the line up area while riding in the parade or those dropping off children should park on the Riceland side of Hwy. 69 and walk across to the lineup area.
• Cheerleaders, ROTC, band members, and other walking participants should gather on the Riceland side of Hwy. 69.

All participants are asked to share these details with everyone associated with their entry. The Chamber, City of Newport, and parade organizers are not responsible for injuries or damage. In case of inclement weather, participants will be notified of an alternate parade date.

Floats must be in position no later than 5:30 p.m. for judging. Plaques will be awarded for first through third place in both the commercial/business and non-commercial categories prior to the parade.
