The Newport Area Recycling Center is located at 216 Third Street, Suite B. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Convenient drop-off bins for recyclable items are available at all times at the Center.
Items recycled at the City Recycling Center
- Cardboard
A truck runs a route picking up cardboard from "dog pens" located throughout the City and Jackson County. The "pens" are placed at business locations but can be used by citizens.
- Household paper - newspapers, magazines, catalogs, phone books, junk mail, office and school papers.
- Plastic bottles (with a 1 or 2 in the triangle on the bottom) - beverage, milk and juice, condiments, coffee containers, soap and detergent, lotion and shampoo.
- Aluminum cans
- Steel cans

Wal Mart, Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts, and O'Reilly's - used motor oil
